Member of the Sports Strategy Team and Facilities Strategy Team. Assisted the team to develop a Sport and Leisure Strategy to provide a clear approach to its role in supporting sustainable sport and leisure opportunities within Northern Ireland. As well as addressing the need for future provision in Northern Ireland, a further Facilities strategy also aimed to provide a clear way forward to enable sustainable provision of the Region’s main sport and leisure facilities
Strategically involved in the Sport Matters Strategy for Sport, 2009-2019 and agree that all departments of Government must work together to produce policies ,plans and strategies–the building blocks–that are consistent with the priorities we have identified and with a focus on delivery. In addition, Government, as a whole, must act collaboratively with partners in the private, community and voluntary sectors to assure and positively maximise, the impacts of our work.

Member of the Disability Strategic review and Public Consultation – Actioned Disability Sport and Active Recreation Action Plan for Northern Ireland Addressing opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in sport in NI.
Consultation with key sporting and non-sporting organisations enabled Scope to set guidelines for the development of sports facilities for disabled people and the engagement with volunteers. Scope also developed a framework for the development of disability sport and physical activity and identified current and future opportunities and strategic options to enable transformative change in sport and physical activity participation by disabled people within Newtownabbey. Scope’s strategy also laid out a framework from which a delivery plan for the implementation of the strategy can be developed along with robust measuring process to monitor progress.
